The primary responsibilities of this position are to diagnose and repair heavy highway, trucks, grading, and asphalt equipment and maintenance issues. Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with heavy equipment.
  • Effective communication and organization skills.
  • Diagnose and repair heavy grading and paving equipment.
  • Experienced with diesel engines, hydraulic components, and electrical systems.
  • Able to perform repairs in accordance with OSHA safety regulations.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License in good standing.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Virginia State Inspection license desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Perform repairs and overhaul of the various highway, grading and asphalt equipment, pumps, air compressor, transmissions, controls, and accessories, etc.
  • Test equipment following repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with operating specifications.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance practices necessary to increase the service life of the equipment.
  • Prepare required documentation including work orders and parts lists in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Notify the Shop Foreman when problems arise.
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
