About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Sales Support Technician provides technical and operational support to the sales department by preparing equipment for demonstrations, maintaining inventory records, coordinating equipment transfers, and assisting sales personnel with product specifications and customer inquiries. This role serves as the technical resource for equipment-related matters throughout the sales process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel-powered systems.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with construction, agriculture, mining, or industrial equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment brands, models, and applications.
  • Experience performing pre-delivery inspections.
  • Ability to train others on equipment operation and features.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales team with technical information regarding equipment specifications, features, and applications.
  • Prepare machines for customer demonstrations, inspections, and deliveries.
  • Conduct equipment walk-arounds and demonstrate machine functions for customers and sales staff.
  • Coordinate equipment movement between branches, job sites, and customer locations.
  • Inspect equipment for condition, functionality, and presentation readiness.
  • Assist with machine setup, attachments, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, machine hours, specifications, and availability status.
  • Work closely with service, parts, and transportation departments to ensure equipment readiness.
  • Assist in creating equipment quotes, specification sheets, and sales documentation.
  • Provide product training and support to sales personnel as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment meets company safety standards and manufacturer requirements.
