About The Position

Join Our Team in Ryley AB as a Heavy Equipment Operator: Position Summary: Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment at Claystone Waste? As a heavy Equipment Operator, you'll play a vital part in our mission to provide safe, sustainable, and environmentally responsible waste solutions. Reporting to the Ryley Site Supervisor, you'll operate various heavy construction equipment, maintain site cleanliness, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in safely operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Initiative, responsibility, and understanding of equipment capabilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain equipment.
  • High level of initiative, work performance, and responsibility.
  • Valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
  • High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment including packers, dozers material handlers, loaders, skid steers, and excavators.
  • Manage and unload trailers with municipal solid waste, organics, and construction materials efficiently and safely.
  • Sort recyclables such as wood and metals from construction debris.
  • Maintain organized site materials to ensure smooth traffic flow.
  • Support scale operations and direct traffic when necessary.
  • Uphold a clean and litter-free facility.
  • Prepare and present pre- and post-trip documentation and safety reports.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to facility users.
  • Actively seek and suggest improvements to enhance work processes.
  • Mentor less experienced staff when needed.
  • Fulfill other operational duties as assigned.
