About The Position
You are responsible for operating heavy equipment as contained in the equipment table below. This competition will be used to staff on-going requirements for both the winter and summer seasons (until December 31st, 2026).
Requirements
- Completion of some secondary school (minimum Grade 10)
- Minimum of 13 months of experience
- Valid Ontario unrestricted DZ class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
- Must obtain Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates within the time frame determined by the employer
- English oral, reading, writing
Responsibilities
- Operate Auto Cone 5000
- Operate Backhoe with loader attachment only
- Operate Crew cab dump over 1 ton without attachment or trailer
- Operate Crew cab with trailer over 1000 kgs and up to 4600 kgs
- Operate Crew cab dump with attachment or with trailer up to 4600 kgs
- Operate Flusher/Water truck # 5 ton and over
- Operate Garbage Compactor (Parks)
- Operate Plow truck or straight salt truck (single and tandem axle)
- Operate Ride on Mower (Over 72" cut)
- Operate Ride-on Sidewalk sweeper
- Operate Single axle dump truck
- Operate Single axle hoist truck
- Operate Tandem dump truck with attenuator
- Operate Tandem dump truck without attachment or trailer
- Operate Tractor with or without attachment (Bombardier, Holder, trackless, farm tractor, mower, sidewalk plow, sidewalk blower, etc.)
- Operate Tri-axle dump truck without trailer
- Operate Truck over 1 ton, with attachment or with trailer up to 4600 kgs
