About The Position
Plum Thicket Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscience Heavy Equipment Operator to join our GROWING team in Harper, Kansas. This role involves operating heavy machinery for various landfill operations, including spreading and compacting trash, applying daily cover, excavating soil, maintaining haul roads, and hauling soil. The position requires a commitment to safety, the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, and good customer service skills.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
- Spreading daily cover using a Dozer
- Excavating soil using a excavator
- Maintaining haul roads using a grader
- Hauling soil
- Work in a fast paced, team environment
- Follow safe operating practices
- Learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service
