About The Position

Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR), a subsidiary of TT&E Iron & Metal, is hiring a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator for its scrap yard in Garner, North Carolina. The role operates front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers in a fast-paced, outdoor industrial environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Pay is $17–$22 per hour, based on experience. The position involves physically demanding work in conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.

Requirements

• Proven ability to operate front-end loaders, forklifts, and skid steers.
• Comfort with physically demanding work and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
• Reliability, a safety-minded approach, and ability to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Experience using a scale on a loader bucket.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large front-end loader to load scrap metal into trucks, railcars, and hoppers.
• Perform daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and routine greasing and cleaning.
• Communicate clearly with team members over a two-way radio.
• Work safely and effectively in a rugged, outdoor industrial environment.
