About The Position

Bring your skills and experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator to Maricopa County! In this role, you will work with a team dedicated to ensuring public services are provided promptly and efficiently. You will operate County equipment and vehicles to help construct and maintain roads, properties, and other related structures.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience operating trucks and equipment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL); endorsements may be required for some job assignments
  • State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
  • Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety, but may not specifically require a valid CDL

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of medium to large-sized construction and maintenance equipment/vehicles in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
  • Plan and prioritize work tasks; read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform heavy manual labor assignments as needed and assist work crews as required
  • Complete required daily logs and prepare reports; attend safety meetings and other required meetings and mandatory training
  • Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks
  • Other job duties as assigned
