About The Position

Weyerhaeuser’s Sort Yard facility located in Olympia, Washington has an opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator. This position will serve as a member of the flow-to-work log yard team, operating various pieces of log handling equipment, participate in cleanup activities, and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment. This is a full-time, hourly day shift position. Hourly employees are represented by the IAM-AW Union. Benefits (in accordance with the Labor Agreement) include medical, dental, vision, 401k plans, vacation, and holidays. Rate of pay starts at $33.78 with the potential of reaching $36.09 per hour after proven competency in accordance with the labor agreement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Experience working in a log yard and/or operating log handling equipment
Knowledge of log sorts, putting logs in and out of storage decks, unloading and loading log trucks
Successful completion of pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) as a condition of employment
This position is designated by WY as a safety-sensitive position. Please be advised that due to the designation of this position as safety-sensitive, you will be subject to pre-employment testing for cannabis and its metabolites.
