About The Position

Operates heavy equipment in performing road and bridge repair, maintenance and construction projects. Duties include safe driving skills, equipment operation and traffic control. This posting may be used to fill multiple openings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of heavy equipment operating experience in the road maintenance/road construction industry required.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Colorado Driver’s License with tanker and air brake endorsements required.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must be able to pass post job offer physical screening.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates heavy equipment such as dozers, motor graders, front end loaders, backhoes, excavators, chip spreaders, tandem dump trucks, single axle dump trucks, water trucks, lowboys, fuel trucks, sweepers and similar equipment in performing road and drainage repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Performs snowplowing and sanding.
  • Performs vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure a safe operating condition.
  • Performs traffic control, flagging, and signing for projects.
  • Completes tasks in support of road maintenance to include carpentry work, fence installation, jack hammering, painting, erosion and drainage control, tree trimming, grounds maintenance, cattle guard replacements, refuge removal, weed mowing/control.
  • Monitors and accounts for materials usage.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
