Performs various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy equipment that may include but not limited to; front end loader, reach stacker, top picker, yard jockey, and track mobile. tractor. Responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery to move, stage, and load bulk sugar and containers in support of rail operations. Assist with material movement, container staging, and/or loading/unloading operations to support reach stacker and loading activities. Load and/or unload containers from/to ABC flat railcars in accordance with load plans and rail safety protocols. Work closely with Heavy Equipment Operator Lead, yard personnel and dispatch to coordinate loading/unloading schedules. Safely and efficiently operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited JD 644J, 744J, 824J, 300D and/or TS9972 vehicles and other ancillary site equipment. Responsible for conducting daily pre-operational inspections and completion of equipment logbooks while documenting any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions. Required to maintain record of operation including, but not limited to, daily operating data and abnormal conditions. Ensures that the operation of the equipment meets or exceeds contractual and regulatory compliance. Ensure all sugar handling follows quality and contamination control standards. Performs preventive maintenance of equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ O&M manuals and company SOPs. Assist where necessary to support facility maintenance activities including preventive maintenance and repairs. Perform general assignments as necessary to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the area. Maintain operation records.
