About The Position
Responsible for operating heavy equipment to complete tasks related to whole ties and working closely with the tie grader. This role involves the fueling, care, and maintenance of the assigned equipment, as well as ensuring compliance with all company, local, and Federal safety laws. The Heavy Equipment Operator will collaborate with all employees, from laborers to management, and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience running heavy equipment
- Ability to work overtime
- Intermediate tablet/smart phone skills
- Basic math skills (addition, subtractions)
- Experience working in small teams
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment to complete tasks related to whole ties.
- Work closely with the tie grader.
- Perform fueling, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all company, local, and Federal safety laws.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.
- Perform other construction related duties as required.
- Properly maintain equipment and notify supervisor of any mechanical issues.
- Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment.
