About The Position

Responsible for controlling the movement and handling of product. This role involves driving diesel-powered front-end loaders with forks to move, lift, or stack products in the yard. The operator must ensure loads are balanced and safe, load and unload material in an orderly and safe manner, and stay alert to note load shifts, improper balance, and vehicle malfunctions. Daily and preventative maintenance on forklifts is also a key responsibility, along with notifying supervisors of any problems. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as per company requirements.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in a shipping department preferable in the manufacturing of pipe and tube
  • Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
  • Must be able to operate a Front End loader with forks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have good verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts.
  • Must have safety as a priority.
  • Ideal candidate will have excellent attendance, good work ethic, able to work overtime as needed.
  • The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers.
  • Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
  • Regularly required to stand, and/or walk, and/or use arms and hands to load and unload material for extended period of time.
  • Must be able to safely lift and load 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work outside in a variety of conditions.
  • Candidates must be able to tolerate any climate, must be flexible with shift and hours.
