About The Position

The Operator II plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of heavy machinery and equipment within the production environment. This position requires a thorough understanding of operational procedures and the ability to monitor systems to maintain optimal performance. The Operator II is responsible for identifying and troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to safety and quality standards. This role contributes directly to meeting production targets and maintaining product quality, thereby supporting overall business objectives. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to continuously improve operational processes and safely operate excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, backhoes, Skid Steers, rollers/compactors building and safely breaking down trench boxes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an industrial or construction environment operating machinery or equipment.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols, operational procedures and trench safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, industry hand signs, operational manuals and grade stakes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • 3-5 years of heavy equipment experience

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in equipment operation or industrial safety.
  • experience in utility/ heavy civil construction
  • Experience with computerized control systems or automated machinery.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate construction equipment and heavy equipment such as excavators, bull dozers, backhoes, skid steers, etc. at the wastewater treatment projects and monitor machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Identify, report, and troubleshoot operational issues promptly to maintain continuous production flow outside of the equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of operational activities, including production data, maintenance logs, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to implement process improvements and adhere to quality standards.
