About The Position

Saiia Construction, a MasTec company, is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators in Joseph City, AZ. This role is responsible for operating heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks to move materials. The operator will also participate in required training and ensure adherence to all safety regulations, including OSHA and MSHA. Requirements

Experience operating Articulating Haul Truck, Water Truck, Fuel Truck, Skid Steer, or Roller.
Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and other related state and federal regulations.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.
Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.
Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.
Regularly required to use hands for manipulations (Continuously).
Vision Abilities: Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Hearing Abilities: Must be able to hear equipment and facility signals, horns and alarms; radio, and phone communications.

Experience operating excavator, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks.

Responsibilities

Operates excavator to dig holes and trenches, and to move and transport earth, gravel, and other materials.
Operates bulldozer or grader to gouge out, level, and distribute soil, sand, ore, rock, gravel, and other materials, and to clear trees and rocks.
Operates truck equipped with a dump body to transport and dump loose materials.
Operates tractor-drawn or self-propelled scraper to move, haul, and grade earth on construction sites.
Operates a truck to transport water for construction projects, filling and transporting potable water to crews, and spraying water on roadways to control dust.
Performs inspections, oil changes, greasing, servicing, and makes normal operating adjustments to the Water Truck.
Understands and utilizes GPS grade technology on applicable machines.
Starts engine and controls hydraulic shovel or other attachments using hand and foot levers.
Uses bucket to dig trenches and holes of specified dimensions.
Fastens attachments to bulldozer or grader with clevis or wedge-pin hitches.
Maneuvers bulldozer or grader and controls attachments to clear right of way.
Estimates depth of cut by feeling levers and listening for engine stalling.
Operates bulldozer or grader in successive passes to achieve specified grade or elevation.
Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt dump body and dump contents.
Moves hand and foot controls to move truck forward and backward to loosen and dump material.
Moves switches, levers, and pedals to control the loading gate, adjust depth of cut, and raise/close the pan or bowl for hauling.
Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor.
Moves levers to control tool bars, carriers, and disks.
Lifts/moves transported materials as needed.
