About The Position

Austin Industrial is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for a full-time maintenance position working 40 hours per week on a 4/10 schedule. The operator uses powered construction equipment to excavate, move, or grade earth; erect structures; and move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas. The position requires operating STC (Service Truck Crane), TLL (Telescopic Boom Crane-Swing Cab), and TSS (Telescopic Boom Crane-Fixed Cab) equipment. No per diem or relocation assistance is provided. The role requires a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Work may take place in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, vibration, moving equipment, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must use required PPE and satisfy applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements. Requirements

Must have NCCCO.
Valid state driver's license.
TWIC.
Three to five years of equipment operating experience.
Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
Must provide own fire-retardant clothing (FRC).
Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industrial does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.
Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies; exercise sound judgment; solve problems; maintain attention to detail; manage stress; and adapt to changing priorities.
Must be able to meet the physical, sensory, communication, and motor demands of the role and safely perform assigned duties.
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and meet applicable customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements.

Responsibilities

Operate STC (Service Truck Crane), TLL (Telescopic Boom Crane-Swing Cab), and TSS (Telescopic Boom Crane-Fixed Cab) equipment.
Operate powered construction equipment to excavate, move, or grade earth; erect structures; and move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas.
Use levers and pedals to raise, lower, and rotate the boom, load line, blade, or bucket.
Raise and lower the blade or bucket and rotate the boom or load by sight or according to signals from a helper.
Inspect equipment for defective parts and notify a supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
Start engines and operate throttles, switches, levers, and pedals to control machinery.
Signal truck drivers to position trucks for loading dirt, rocks, and other materials.
Take action to avoid hazards and obstructions, including utility lines, other equipment, workers, and falling objects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
