About The Position

This person must be responsible for decisions, actions and failures; must establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results. In addition, the Heavy Equipment Operator must partner with others to get work done and work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives. Employees in this classification are expected to continue to learn and improve their skill in preparation of higher-level classification and added responsibilities. Job classification may advance upon employees request and completion of advancement, testing, and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment Operator
  • CAT 785 - transporting material
  • Hitachi 3600
  • Caterpillar 16 / 19 / 24 graders
  • Production Drills
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • May be required to, but not limited to; sit, stand, kneel, crouch, climb, bend, and reach for unspecified time periods during a shift
  • Work exposures may include, but not limited to, the following conditions: wind, rain, snow, extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, dust, chemical and electrical hazards
  • Defensive driving skills
  • Positive Attitude

Nice To Haves

  • MSHA - Preferred but not required
  • CDL - Not required but a plus

Responsibilities

  • Pre-shift inspections
  • Safely operate and haul material in haul units to assigned locations in various weather conditions
  • Align equipment properly for loading and unloading of material
  • Aid in freeing equipment from environmental conditions
  • Assist with other production needs and necessities.
  • Complete “T” Skill Level in “Skill Based Advancement System”
  • Pass “A” Truck Skill Level (See “Skill Based Advancement System”)
  • The employee shall perform his/her work duties in compliance with all Facility, Company, and Regulatory (State or Federal) Environmental, Health, Safety and/or Security policies, rules and regulations. This includes but is not limited to: maintaining a safe and secure work environment, protecting company sensitive information, and reporting suspicious or unauthorized activities and/or behaviors.
