About The Position

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Boone Quarry West in Columbia, MO. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant. The ideal candidate enjoys working with others, can set a rhythm to keep operations moving, and is willing to operate machinery safely to contribute to the success of an exciting industry.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
1+ years of related experience
Valid US driver’s license
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Knowledge of MSHA regulations
Effective verbal communication
Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material

Responsibilities

Safely operate heavy equipment to move material within the plant.
Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture.
Inspect equipment for signs of wear.
Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
Work in a team environment.
Clean work areas.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
Proper wear of personal protective equipment.
Notify supervisors of repairs needed.
Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements.
Assist in plant maintenance and repairs.
Perform duties with minimum supervision.
