About The Position

This is a temporary long-term, unionized position for a Heavy Equipment Operator. The role involves operating various heavy machinery and trucks, performing site maintenance, and ensuring equipment upkeep. The work location is in Nunavik with a rotation schedule of 6 weeks worked followed by 3 weeks off.

Requirements

• Hold a heavy equipment course (DEP) or any other diploma combined with experience deemed equivalent.
• Have a minimum of 6,000 hours of experience as a truck driver and 4,000 hours as a construction machinery operator.
• Hold an explosive permit.
• Hold a valid driver’s license class 1 (SAAQ).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a northern environment.
• Bilingualism (French-English).

Responsibilities

• Drive different trucks (semi-trailer truck, fardier truck, vacuum truck, bus, fuel tanker, water tanker, sand truck, etc.)
• Operate heavy machinery such as D-8/6/3 tractor, wheel loaders, hydraulic shovel, 40-ton mining truck, telescopic mast truck.
• Maintain the roads on the mine site with all types of heavy machinery specific to this task.
• Inspect and conduct preventive maintenance on equipment consistently.
• Perform all tasks related to airport services.
• Perform all other tasks requested by supervisor if needed.
