About The Position
Mid Valley Disposal is looking for a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to support operations at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Compost Operations site. This position plays a key role in keeping materials moving efficiently throughout our recycling and composting operations while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Requirements
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably front-end loaders
- Experience in recycling, waste, or solid waste operations is a plus
Responsibilities
- Safely operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment
- Move, load, sort, and transport recyclable and waste materials
- Maintain material flow to conveyors and processing areas
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, contamination, or prohibited materials
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times
- Work closely with supervisors, spotters, maintenance staff, and team members
- Assist with site cleanup and additional facility duties as needed
