About The Position
Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Sedalia Quarry in Sedalia, MO. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- 1+ years of related experience
- Valid US driver’s license
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective verbal communication
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
- General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling material
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment to move material within the plant.
- Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture.
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear.
- Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
- Work in a team environment.
- Clean work areas.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Proper wear of personal protective equipment.
- Notify supervisors of repairs needed.
- Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements.
- Assist in plant maintenance and repairs.
- Perform duties with minimum supervision.
