The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating all assigned (military as well as Government) vehicles to include material handling vehicles such as manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklifts to transport, load and unload from a vehicle, materials, supplies and equipment. This position executes field level maintenance activities, including but not limited to Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), and operator level functions in support of wheel track, and other tactical administrative or support equipment. Under the supervision of the Lead/Supervisor, drives a truck, over four tons (usually 10 wheels) within the boundaries of Fort Moore.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of related experience.
  • Must be able to pass the standard background check.
  • Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and interact with higher levels of military and government officials.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, sometimes with short deadlines.
  • Experience in performing Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services per the current Technical Manual
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively manage operational workload increase.
  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; be able to work in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • AAMMO 62 certification preferred. Qualified applicants may be hired without AMMO 62 certification, under the condition that they attend and pass the next available AMMO 62 course.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a truck transporting materials, repair parts, heavy equipment or personnel.
  • Load and unload truck/aircraft with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs and keep the truck in good working condition.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned in support of customer contract.
  • Operates Handling Equipment per military requirements.
  • Identify, track and report equipment status to include completeness of repairs and serviceability.
  • Performs field level maintenance activities, including but not limited to Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), and operator level functions in support of wheel track, and other tactical administrative or support equipment.
  • Drives a truck, over four tons (usually 10 wheels) within the boundaries of Fort Moore.
