About The Position

Performs technical and manual tasks in the operation of minor maintenance, and equipment checks of heavy equipment operated by the City. Performs related tasks as required. Works under the general supervision of the Water Field Supervisor.

Requirements

• Operation of heavy equipment including front end loader, backhoe, roller, skid steer, dump truck, compactor, mower, and computer.
• Maintenance service and minor field repairs on equipment.
• Operation and maintenance of water pumpstations and water storage facilities.
• Availability to answer Duty Phone on nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to follow well-established procedures and methods.
• Essential function of the job is attendance.

Responsibilities

• Follows well-established procedures and methods.
• Operates a front end loader, backhoe, roller, skid steer, dump truck, compactor, mower, computer etc.
• Operates equipment for such things as excavating, repairing or replacing infrastructure in the water distribution, wastewater treatment and collection systems.
• Performs maintenance service and makes minor field repairs on equipment, ensures that equipment is secure at the end of each work shift.
• Operates and maintains water pumpstations and water storage facilities.
• Answers Duty Phone on nights, weekends and holidays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Attendance is an essential function of this job.
