About The Position

In this role, you will help keep our roads, paths, and public areas safe and clear for the community. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3) years of heavy equipment operation or related experience
  • Valid Class A CDL with airbrakes endorsement and a safe driving record
  • This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing in accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 40 and/or 382).
  • Employees will complete in-house training for IMOT certification and will be responsible for setting up and removing Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) work zones.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment such as graders, loaders, skid steers, street sweepers, trucks, and trailers.
  • Perform minor mechanical work and basic equipment care.
  • Use hand and power tools for daily tasks.
  • Follow Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) rules to keep work zones safe.
  • Remove debris and help with clean-up after storms or emergencies.
  • Maintain road right-of-ways and complete routine inspections.
  • Work on a crew or independently, depending on the assignment.
  • Form, pour, measure, and finish concrete.
  • Build catch basins, lay pipe, and shoot grades using a laser.
  • Interact with the public in a professional way.
