Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Three (3) years of heavy equipment operation or related experience
Valid Class A CDL with airbrakes endorsement and a safe driving record
This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing in accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 40 and/or 382).
Employees will complete in-house training for IMOT certification and will be responsible for setting up and removing Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) work zones.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment such as graders, loaders, skid steers, street sweepers, trucks, and trailers.
Perform minor mechanical work and basic equipment care.
Use hand and power tools for daily tasks.
Follow Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) rules to keep work zones safe.
Remove debris and help with clean-up after storms or emergencies.
Maintain road right-of-ways and complete routine inspections.
Work on a crew or independently, depending on the assignment.
Form, pour, measure, and finish concrete.
Build catch basins, lay pipe, and shoot grades using a laser.
Interact with the public in a professional way.
