About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for curbside collections from the right of way in residential and city streets. As a commercial driver's license operator of heavy equipment, the role involves the collection and transportation of curbside and solid waste materials to the landfill. The Heavy Equipment Operator II reports to the Waste Management Supervisor and serves as the lead operator for the curbside collections division. This role manages and maintains collections, transports, and disposes of debris materials from city right of ways, ensuring streets and right of ways are kept free of debris. The position also assists with other department duties as required and works under limited supervision to ensure efficient waste collections while providing a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One (1) year of job-related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid SC Driver's License.
• South Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
