About The Position
The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill. This position works second shift after a short training period. The second shift schedule is Monday thru Friday starting at 3:00pm - 11:30pm.
Requirements
- Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including (but not limited to): check tire pressure, check oil and water levels.
- Demonstrates, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
- A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
Responsibilities
- Assists in off-loading trucks and unloading waste.
- Operates equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
- Processes treatment of materials and containers.
- Samples post-treated materials for testing by laboratory.
- Loads cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to landfill or disposal.
- Performs general preventative maintenance to equipment and general housekeeping.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
