About The Position

Harsco Environmental is seeking a night shift Heavy Equipment Loader Operator. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of heavy equipment, including Loaders, Material Handlers, Water Trucks, and E-Cranes. The primary duty involves operating a Loader to dig hot slag pits. The role may also require operating crushing and screening equipment. All work is performed within a steel mill environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years’ experience as a heavy equipment operator.
• Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
• Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
• Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record routine mobile equipment pre-start and post inspections.
• Complete required activity reports.
• Follow all policies and rules of the company and the customer.
• Maintain a high level of safety and abide by all safe work requirements.
• Operate a Loader digging hot slag pits.
• May operate crushing and screening equipment.
