About The Position

NACG is seeking DOZER OPERATORS to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is an opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region. For this role, NACG offers a combined rate of up to $56.50/hour as well as room for growth. The work site is Kearl, with a schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, working 12-hour days. Camp accommodation and transportation to and from Edmonton or Calgary are provided. Bussing is provided from Fort McMurray to site. This position involves operating D9 - D11 Dozers and various other models to complete assigned work, providing support to shovels, reading stakes, placing grades, and ensuring compliance with all safety policies and operating standards. The role requires using adequate safety equipment, reviewing safe work plans, conducting equipment checks, and reporting any necessary repairs or incidents immediately.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating D9 - D11 sized Dozer
  • Minimum 1 year working with mining shovels
  • Previous experience operating with muskeg / soft ground required
  • Must be able to follow instructions to ensure safe equipment operation
  • A safety-first attitude
  • Attentive and possess strong listening skills
  • Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year experience in a mining atmosphere preferred
  • High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Operate D9 - D11 Dozer and various sizes and models of Dozers required to complete assigned work
  • Provide shovels with support out at site as requested
  • Read stakes and be able to place a grade as needed
  • Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies, operating standards and procedures
  • Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE
  • Reviewing safe work plans/ hazard assessment with prior to job commencement and follow all requirements
  • Complete equipment/ area walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments and ensure all equipment is running properly
  • Report any necessary or anticipated repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors immediately
  • Report all incidents, near misses or damage immediately
