Heavy Equipment Mechanic
About The Position
The Martin Marietta Upper Midwest Region is seeking a skilled and versatile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at our state-of-the-art Maple Grove Maintenance Facility. In this hands-on role, you'll maintain and repair a diverse fleet of diesel-powered mobile equipment and aggregate and asphalt plant machinery, including loaders, dozers, crushers, conveyors, and more. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, complete component rebuilds, and install mechanical systems that keep our operations running safely and efficiently. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years heavy equipment experience
- A valid CDL (Class A or B) and excellent driving record
- Knowledge of Cat ET/SIS, Volvo Prosis needed
- Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deer, and Volvo quarry/construction equipment/diesel engine repairs
- Must provide own hand tools
- Membership with Operating Engineers Local 49 is required
Nice To Haves
- Additional schooling/certifications a plus
- Advanced knowledge of yellow iron preferred
- Current members of Operating Engineers Local 49 are preferred
Responsibilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair
- Weld, cut, fabricate as needed
