Tryfacta is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our client in City of Miami, FL, 33142. This is a temporary contract assignment. The role involves diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and servicing a wide variety of light, medium, and heavy-duty automotive equipment and machinery. This includes equipment such as draglines, road rollers, bulldozers, road graders, front-end loaders, ditching machines, backhoes, sewer maintenance equipment, air compressors, hydro cranes, compacting garbage trucks, and various types of special duty and conventional trucks. The mechanic will also diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul motors for automotive fire equipment, ensuring ease of starting and effective long-term operation. Responsibilities extend to repairing, overhauling, and maintaining specialized equipment on pumping, ladder, and other automotive fire equipment, including pumps, valves, power take-offs, hydraulic systems, and steering mechanisms. The role also includes repairing and building special bodies, overhauling and servicing assemblies and accessories like rear axles, multi-speed transmissions, and hydraulic/air/vacuum/electric control systems. Tire changes and repairs on heavy automotive equipment are also part of the duties. Additionally, the mechanic may operate fuel delivery trucks and deliver fuel and lubricants. The position requires operating various shop equipment, machinery, precision instruments, and specialized tools. Testing equipment to locate defects and confirm repairs before returning equipment to service is essential. The role may involve supervising unskilled workers and performing road calls to service equipment in the field. Other related work as required will also be performed.
