About The Position

This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial vehicles such as forklifts and container handlers. The mechanic will perform routine maintenance and breakdown repairs in the shop, prioritize work orders, ensure accurate paperwork submission, and provide excellent customer service. The position also requires maintaining company-provided assets and tools.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a technician role.
  • Previous experience with hydraulics and computer diagnostics.
  • Ability to interpret and apply schematic diagrams.
  • Valid Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to insurance company.
  • Ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize demands and execute tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Adhere to company’s core values.
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace and pass pre-employment screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial vehicles, including forklifts, container handlers, etc.
  • Perform routine maintenance and breakdown repair work in the shop.
  • Prioritize work orders, comply with safety incident reporting, and ensure all paperwork is submitted timely and accurately.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain company-provided assets, including all work tools.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot customer breakdowns; provide proper repairs to minimize equipment downtime and initiate estimates for shop repairs.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance, including standard inspections, repair and replace defective parts, lubricate parts, and repair electrical equipment.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in factory specifications.
  • Review repair work and scheduled maintenance results with customers, communicating any potential issues.
  • Quote and communicate services to customers.
  • Utilize the Mobile Service application to close the day, fill out work orders, obtain customer signatures, finalize jobs, and mark them as complete.
  • Provide daily status updates to the dispatchers and review any customer issues or concerns with the dispatcher and account manager.
