Heavy Equipment Maintenance Helper / Lube Technician
About The Position
Mid Valley Disposal is looking for a Lube Technician or mechanically inclined entry-level candidate who wants to build a career in heavy equipment maintenance. If you have experience performing oil changes, filter changes, lubrication services, fluid checks, preventive maintenance, or basic vehicle inspections, your skills can transfer directly into this position. You’ll work alongside an experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Mechanic while learning to service and maintain equipment such as loaders, excavators, grinders, water trucks, conveyors, balers, compactors, and other production equipment. Heavy equipment experience is not required. We’re looking for someone with mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and a willingness to learn.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn heavy equipment maintenance
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery
- Valid Class C driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Dependable and team-oriented
Nice To Haves
- Experience performing oil changes, filter changes, lubrication services, fluid checks, preventive maintenance, or basic vehicle inspections
- Automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, or lubrication-service experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform oil and filter changes, lubrication services, greasing, and fluid checks
- Assist with scheduled 250-, 500-, and 1,000-hour preventive maintenance services
- Inspect equipment for leaks, worn components, damaged hoses, loose hardware, and other maintenance concerns
- Assist with routine preventive maintenance on heavy and stationary equipment
- Clean radiators, engine compartments, and equipment components
- Assist with removing and installing parts during repairs and maintenance
- Work alongside an experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Mechanic and gain hands-on heavy equipment experience (e.g. loaders, excavators, grinders, screening equipment, water trucks, conveyors, balers and compactors)
- Maintain tools, lubricants, filters, parts, and maintenance supplies
- Follow lockout/tagout and established safety procedures
- Document basic maintenance and services performed as assigned
