About The Position

This role involves performing repair work on all company Forklifts, Clamp Trucks, and attachments. The mechanic will follow inspection procedures, test drive lifts to diagnose malfunctions and ensure smooth operation after repairs, and interpret diagnostic test results using various equipment. Responsibilities include routine/preventative maintenance such as oil changes, battery testing, light replacement, and lubrication. The job also requires adjusting and aligning wheels, tightening components, and disassembling/reassembling equipment. Diagnosing and repairing issues with engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, lighting, tires, and wheels is a key part of the role. The mechanic will also repair or replace malfunctioning components and equipment, comply with all safety policies, and maintain computerized repair and parts data. The position also includes being on call for emergencies.

Requirements

  • A high school education or equivalent
  • 3 (+) years experience repairing lifts trucks required
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Must have strong Electrical skills
  • Be mechanically inclined

Responsibilities

  • Follow inspection procedures checklist
  • Perform repair work on all company Forklifts, Clamp Trucks, and attachments
  • Test drive lifts to diagnose malfunctions, and ensure they run smoothly after repairs
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results, often by using dials, gauges, and other computer equipment
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles
  • Perform routine/preventative maintenance: change oil, battery test, replace lights and lubricate equipment and parts
  • Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment and parts
  • Diagnose problems and then perform repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, lighting, tires and wheels
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain computerized data on repairs and parts
  • On call for emergency
