About The Position

This role involves troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of equipment, from heavy construction machinery to light support equipment and work tools. The technician will operate equipment to diagnose problems, inspect for defects, and perform necessary welding and fabricating tasks. The position requires the ability to complete tasks with minimal direction and a strong awareness of safety precautions, policies, and procedures. The technician will also assist supervisors and co-workers with various mechanic-related tasks and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and fabrication knowledge usually obtained through a 2 yr. post-secondary degree or equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience.
  • One to three years of knowledge of maintenance procedures and tooling obtained through previous work experience in mechanic and light welding.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License with acceptable driving record or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to obtain Hazmat with tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs on all types of equipment and work tools.
  • Operates equipment to diagnose problems and inspects equipment for defects.
  • Responsible for small welding and fabricating tasks required on equipment coming through shop.
  • Assists supervisors, co-workers with a variety of mechanic, and related tasks as necessary.
  • Highly aware of safety precautions, policies, and procedures and is able to assist management in maintaining a safe work environment.
