About The Position
This role supports the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment and infrastructure across the Kennecott Copper Surface Mine operation. The position involves troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, diagnosing and repairing motors, maintaining and troubleshooting VFDs and soft starters, installing and calibrating instrumentation, reading and interpreting electrical schematics, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards.
Requirements

- Proven experience working as an industrial or craft electrician in a heavy industrial or mining environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation across low and medium voltage applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Willingness and ability to work a 4 on / 4 off continuous roster
- A collaborative mindset with respect for others in a diverse and inclusive team environment
- Currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States

Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems from 12V DC to 13.8kV AC, including switchgear, transformers, and distribution panels
- Diagnosing and repairing AC and DC motors, including motor control circuits and starters
- Maintaining and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and soft starters
- Installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation such as proximity sensors, level sensors, RTDs, and pressure sensors
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and site‑specific policies
