Heavy Equipment Dispatcher (Class A / Flatbed)
About The Position
Power Trip Rentals is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Dispatcher to join our operations team. This role is responsible for coordinating the daily movement of heavy rental equipment using Class A flatbed and Class C trucks, communicating with drivers, and ensuring deliveries and pickups are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is not general freight or courier dispatch. The ideal candidate has prior experience dispatching flatbeds and/or rental equipment, understands jobsite logistics, and can adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment supporting the film, entertainment, and event industries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in heavy equipment, rental, logistics, or flatbed dispatching strongly preferred
- Experience dispatching Class A flatbed trucks is highly desirable
- Familiarity with jobsite deliveries and equipment transportation
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and driver compliance requirements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with computers and scheduling systems (Microsoft Office, Outlook, dispatch or rental software)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be available for weekend coverage and occasional overtime

Responsibilities
- Schedule, assign, and dispatch Class A flatbed and Class C drivers for equipment deliveries, pickups, transfers, and will-call orders
- Coordinate transportation of heavy equipment including forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, generators, light towers, and related rental assets
- Review rental orders and contracts to ensure correct equipment, delivery method, and truck type prior to dispatch
- Plan routes and delivery schedules based on jobsite access, delivery windows, load requirements, and operational priorities
- Maintain constant communication with drivers, providing instructions, updates, and support throughout the day
- Monitor fleet locations, job progress, and equipment status; proactively respond to delays, site changes, or last-minute requests
- Communicate with customers regarding ETAs, delivery changes, access issues, or delays
- Coordinate closely with yard, service, sales, and operations teams to ensure equipment readiness and accuracy
- Update dispatch notes, job statuses, and delivery documentation in the rental management system
- Handle dispatch paperwork, driver logs, and delivery confirmations
- Ensure drivers are compliant with DOT regulations, hours of service, and company safety policies
- Assist with occasional local deliveries or site checks as needed
