About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician with a strong background in commercial trucks (Class 8 semi-trucks and larger commercial vehicles), cranes, and construction equipment. This role is critical in maintaining our fleet and ensuring operations run at peak performance.

Requirements

Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience working on heavy equipment and commercial trucks (Class 8 semi-trucks and larger commercial vehicles)
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
CDL Class A license required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and reading schematics
Certifications in Diesel Repair (ASE T1-T8 preferred)
Ability to work Saturday or Sunday (weekday off provided in exchange)
Willingness to travel overnight (1-2 nights per week) as needed

Nice To Haves

Heavy Equipment Certifications (NCCER, CAT, Komatsu, etc. – a plus)
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered heavy equipment, commercial trucks, cranes, winches, loaders, and excavators
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and safety inspections
Troubleshoot and repair engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components
Use diagnostic tools to assess and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with FMCSA and safety regulations
Perform field service repairs when equipment cannot be transported to the shop
Manage parts inventory and assist with ordering necessary components
Help develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for the fleet
Ensure proper handling and disposal of fluids and hazardous materials
