Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

About The Position
The Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic is responsible for repairs and servicing associated with heavy equipment and for assisting service oilers with preventive maintenance (PMs) and other related duties as assigned. The role supports a multi-shift operation and involves equipment such as dozers, haulers, blades, scrapers, loaders, pickups, trucks, and other light vehicles, as well as diesel equipment maintenance. Wages and benefits are established by the Mining Agreement between Westmoreland Rosebud Mining LLC and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 400 AFL-CIO.
Requirements
- Prior experience and/or knowledge of repairing and servicing dozers, haulers, blades, scrapers, loaders, pickups, trucks, and other light vehicles, and maintaining diesel equipment.
- Skills needed to perform the duties in a multi-shift operation.
- Valid driver’s license throughout employment.
- Meet all insurability requirements specified by Westmoreland’s policies or the driver’s insurance provider.
Nice To Haves
- Two-year diesel technology degree or equivalent experience.
