The Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of a diverse line or equipment and trucks (construction, mining, aggregates, etc.). This role plays a critical part in ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components.
  • CDL B required.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with changing priorities.
  • You must provide your own basic tool.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Diesel Technology program preferred.
  • CDL A preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, skid steers, and other construction machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, and powertrain components.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, tools, and manufacturer service manuals to accurately identify and resolve equipment failures.
  • Occasionally perform field service repairs as needed to minimize project downtime.
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies. Order parts and supplies when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Stay current on evolving heavy equipment technology and repair practices.
