About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Lead Inspector (HEMI) Mechanic is responsible for the diagnostic, repairs and inspection of military/civilian light, medium and heavy wheeled equipment power generation and ground support equipment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) to six (6) years of experience as an inspector of military vehicles.
  • At least eight (3) years of maintenance team lead experience within medium-sized military support organizations or equivalent, plus a comprehensive knowledge of supply and services.
  • Must possess a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License, Commercial Driver’s License preferred with no restrictions.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre- employment drug screening.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
  • Must be proficient in servicing, troubleshooting and repairing military and civilian wheeled power generation and ground support equipment.
  • Must be familiar with the use of electronic technical manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GCSS-Army preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the work of other mechanics and provide support to maintenance team to ensure satisfactory levels of customer service are maintained for internal and external customers.
  • Inspects, tests, and operates wheeled equipment (commercial and Military) to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
  • Uses automated Logistics Information System to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, maintains wheeled, construction and grounding systems.
  • Removes, disassembles repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls components and accessories.
  • Disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
  • Operates, cleans, inspects, and services wheeled equipment for maintenance purposes.
  • Practices good housekeeping, property accountability control, Foreign Object Damage prevention and safety at all times.
  • Works with a variety of repair and test equipment including Maintenance support Device MSD-V3/V4, pressure testers and electrical testers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
