About The Position

Kocourek Ford is expanding and establishing a new Heavy-Duty Truck Service department. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Heavy-Duty Truck Technician to join the team and help build this new operation from the ground up. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles, with a significant opportunity to influence processes, standards, and the overall growth of the department. The ideal candidate is passionate about trucks, problem-solving, and quality workmanship, and is eager to contribute to building a new service capability.

Requirements

  • Previous heavy-duty truck or commercial vehicle repair experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with diesel engines and heavy-duty systems.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently diagnose complex repairs.
  • Pride in quality workmanship.
  • Understanding of the importance of safety and following proper procedures.
  • Dependable, organized, and team-oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drive trains, electrical systems, and other truck systems.
  • Perform brake, suspension, steering, cooling, exhaust, and after treatment system repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and computer-controlled systems using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Complete DOT-related inspections and repairs as applicable.
  • Accurately document inspections, diagnoses, repairs, and parts used.
  • Perform quality-control checks to ensure repairs are completed correctly and safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and other team members regarding vehicle needs and repairs.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and safety standards.
  • Help establish efficient processes and best practices for our new heavy-duty truck operation.
  • Provide input on equipment, tooling, training, and resources needed to grow the department.
