About The Position

Kerry Brothers Truck Repair is expanding and growing fast, and we are looking for a Transportation Assistant with any experience! Must have a valid Driver License. Requirements

  • Must have a CDL-A
  • Must have a valid Driver License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training or certification in transportation management or logistics is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a transportation or automotive environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing transportation plans and schedules to ensure the timely pickup, delivery, and movement of vehicles to and from the shop.
  • Support coordination efforts with internal departments, including maintenance, parts, and customer service, to prioritize transportation requests and meet customer needs.
  • Assist in scheduling and dispatching drivers, vehicles, and equipment for service calls, deliveries, pickups, and road tests, under the guidance of the transportation manager.
  • Support efforts to maintain a clean and organized transportation area, including parking lots, loading docks, and vehicle storage areas, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in implementing procedures for organizing tools, equipment, and supplies, as well as regularly cleaning and maintaining vehicles, service bays, and transportation vehicles to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Assist in managing customer vehicles brought in for repairs, maintenance, or inspections, including tracking status and progress, scheduling appointments, and communicating with customers regarding service updates.
  • Support transportation of customer vehicles to and from the shop as needed, coordinating with towing companies or assisting with company-owned vehicles and equipment for safe transportation.
  • Assist in conducting road tests on vehicles after completing repairs or maintenance tasks, under the guidance of the transportation manager, to ensure proper functioning and safety before returning them to customers.
  • Provide support during road tests by assisting with driving on designated test routes, monitoring vehicle performance, and identifying any issues or concerns.
  • Provide administrative support to the transportation manager and staff, including maintaining transportation records, updating schedules, and preparing reports as needed.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards for vehicle transportation, including assisting with inspections of transportation vehicles and equipment.
