Heavy Duty Road Mechanic - FIFO
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Road Mechanic to join their on-site team in Fort McMurray. This is a Fly-in/Fly-out position with a 14 on/14 off shift. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex repairs on equipment to minimize downtime. The fleet includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment, and potentially large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in Autopark movie and/or commercial transport.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
- A valid Red Seal (Heavy Duty) is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Perform advanced diagnostics on equipment.
- Make complex repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
- Provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
