About The Position
Finning is growing and looking for multiple Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics to support a customer in the Elk Valley. This role involves working on ultra-class Caterpillar mining equipment. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused Heavy Duty Mechanic with a Red Seal endorsement, seeking stability and career growth.
Requirements
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)
- 3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, with demonstrated time in the field
- Strong skills in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
Nice To Haves
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
- Previous gas engine and power generation experience
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Mining Equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environment.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
- Complete required paperwork and maintain clear customer communication.
