About The Position

The Toyota Certified Technician diagnoses problems, performs repairs and provides preventative maintenance service on material handling equipment at a customer’s site. Requirements

  • College diploma and/or completion of a trade school certification or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as an auto, forklift, heavy equipment or truck and coach mechanic.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems of battery and Internal Combustion powered material handling equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices
  • Knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Provincial propane license (ICE-IE-P or ICE-P) are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience repairing Toyota Products preferred.
  • Power Lift Truck License (PLT) is preferred.
  • Heavy Duty Technician license.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs and services on various types of material handling equipment and its components including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and Lift Device Inspection at prescribed intervals of time and repairs on various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters.
  • Utilizes electronic manuals, digital voltage meters, and applicable diagnostic software for repairing/servicing of material handling equipment.
  • Diagnoses electrical/electronic components, instruction manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensures work performed is verified and the truck returned to the customer clean and operational.
  • Ensures customer work area is clean and free of debris, oil and grease.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
