About The Position
Finning is hiring multiple Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics for work that primarily involves engine diagnostics, repairs and overhauls on a wide variety of Caterpillar engine platforms. This role requires an Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification and engine expertise. The position is located in a shop in Edmonton and will initially be on a Monday-Friday shift, transitioning to a 7x7 continuous shift. Candidate selection will be in compliance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement. Union Membership is required.
Requirements
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Minimum 2 years experience working on 3500 series engines
- Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems experience
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Dedication to safety
Nice To Haves
- Previous Gas Engine and Power Generation experience
Responsibilities
- Engine diagnostics, repairs and overhauls
- Trouble shooting equipment and perform repairs
- Experience using applied Failure Analysis and Reuse & Salvage Guidelines
