About The Position

Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the service tasks on product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) and Aerial Work Platform equipment, based out of our TCRS Fort McMurray Branch. This shop position will work a 7x7 continuous shift rotation. If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification, then you are exactly who we are looking for!

Requirements

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
Ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Nice To Haves

Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset
Previous repair and troubleshooting experience with construction tools, small engine equipment, aerial work platform equipment and diesel generator 8KW to 200KW would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar rental equipment, which includes small engine equipment, construction tools, compact construction equipment, and aerial work platform equipment
Perform a wide variety of equipment repair diagnostics
Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET as required
Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
