About The Position

Finning is growing and so are the opportunities! We are hiring multiple Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to join our team at Red Chris Mine on a 14 x 14 Continuous Shift rotation. This role offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar mining equipment for the biggest players in the industry. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Red Chris, you’ll troubleshoot and repair a variety of Caterpillar mining equipment such as Rock Trucks, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators & Graders; leveraging your technical expertise to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.

Requirements

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic/(HET) Certification
• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract (5 Yr)
• Computer literacy along with Finning S-level courses
• Ability to obtain Customer Site Access (includes Drug & Alcohol testing, criminal background check and Fitness assessment)
• Ability to wear a respirator

Nice To Haves

• 10+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience Recommended
• Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines 793 Haul Trucks, 6015, 6040 and 6060 Shovels, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators, and 18 Graders

Responsibilities

• Field diagnosis and running repairs of CAT Equipment in an active mine environment
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Large‑scale overhauls and rebuilds
• Component replacements
• Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication
