About The Position

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team! This role involves operating and inspecting various machines and equipment, including defense vehicles, to diagnose defects and identify maintenance needs. The mechanic will dismantle and reassemble equipment efficiently, use hoists and hand tools for repairs, and examine parts for damage or wear, making necessary adjustments or replacements. Collaboration with the Project Manager is key to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to project schedules.

Requirements

A minimum of two years of work experience as a mechanic, specifically working with engines and heavy equipment, is required
Must possess the physical stamina to perform maintenance tasks while standing for extended periods
A valid driver’s license is required, along with fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Knowledge of PCs, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software products
Only United States citizens can be considered for this position
Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with military vehicles is a plus
Familiarity with tactical wheel or tract vehicle experience
Automotive or defense mechanical experience is a plus
