About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and diagnosing heavy duty trucks, trailers, forklifts, dollies, company passenger vehicles, and material handling equipment. The role involves performing preventative maintenance, testing equipment during the diagnose and repair process, and utilizing equipment manuals and schematics for repairs and maintenance.

Requirements

1 year experience as mechanic and/or trade school with autos or heavy duty vehicles and/or demonstrated knowledge of general mechanics
Valid driver’s license
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical aptitude and diagnosis skills
Ability to meet requirements of DOT 3.96 to sign-off on repairs and perform DOT inspections within 12 months of hire
Ability to acquire and maintain forklift certification
Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

Monitor, inspect, and diagnose heavy duty trucks, trailers, forklifts, dollies, company passenger vehicles, and material handling equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Test drive equipment during the diagnose and repair process.
Perform lube, oil changes, and general fluid services.
Service air brake systems.
Perform electrical wiring repair.
Replace tires.
Perform welding and fabrication.
Utilize equipment manuals and schematics in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
