About The Position

Heavy Duty Diesel fleet mechanics are responsible for performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on fleet units to company and DOT standards. They perform needed repairs while keeping quality, safety, and expediency at the forefront. Mechanics are the service provider as well as diagnostic technician for our diverse fleet of heavy-duty delivery vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and liquid tank bobtails. Requirements

  • 1+ years’ work experience on vehicle and/or heavy-duty equipment preferred
  • Basic set of tools
  • Ability to follow direction and work unsupervised
  • Basic computer and software skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a “team” environment

Nice To Haves

  • CDL a plus but not required
  • Welding Skills a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on fleet units to company and DOT standards
  • Perform needed repairs while keeping quality, safety, and expediency at the forefront
  • Diagnose and repair medium to heavy duty trucks and trailers, including but not limited to air and hydraulic brake systems, tires, HVAC, steering and suspension, electrical and Driveline, including engine replacement and overhauls
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment
  • Repair and test Fuel delivery systems on truck bodies
  • Diagnose and repair said vehicles and equipment from job “start to finish” within DOT and Fleet management guidelines
  • Use or learn to use fleet software to record repairs and parts used
  • Assist Drivers with any vehicle issues before and/or after each shift
  • Work on a team of fleet mechanics under the general direction of the shop foreman
  • Work additional hours in accordance with business needs and other demands of the position
  • Maintain professionalism with Drivers, outside vendors and customers always
